Position Summary:  Quality Control Manager

Webber has an immediate need for a Quality Control Manager to review contract drawings and specifications and ensure the work in the field is compliant with the contract documents. Must have water related experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Review of Contract Drawings and Specifications.
  2. Daily inspection of the work for subcontractors and Webber.
  3. Preparation for Pre-Activity Meeting.  The Owner is requesting Pre-Activity Meeting for all major items.  There is a list on the last page of Specification Section 01400 Contractor Quality Control (see attached).
  4. 3-Phase QC Program (Prep Phase / Initial Phase / Follow-up Phase).
  5. Other Coordination Meetings.  The Owner is requesting that we have coordination meetings for all scheduled items of work; not just Major Items.
  6. Review of Submittals.  Verify shop drawings are compliant with Contract Documents.
  7. Oversight of NCN's and response (NCN = Non Conformance Notice).

Education and Experience: 

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in construction quality control is preferred

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Computer literate
  • Familiar with general construction
  • Able to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • General construction site safety precautions

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Required to lift heavy equipment such as moisture-density gauge (+/- 90 lbs.), use 6 lb. sledge hammer, coring equipment, concrete curing boxes, wheel barrow with concrete, concrete cylinders and carrying 5-gallon buckets of soil/aggregate samples.  

Work is performed primarily outside in construction conditions during all seasons and various weather conditions.  Project sites may have uneven terrain, slippery conditions and significant amount of exposure to heavy equipment operating adjacent to employee.
